What Basin does

Gathers your kidney labs into one history

Basin's request for your nephrologist's and primary care doctor's records goes out over Carequality and TEFCA, and a stray paper result or disc can be uploaded by hand. Basin files every kidney result in date order, whichever practice it came from.

Shows which way your numbers are moving

eGFR, creatinine and uACR become results you can follow across years. Each one comes with a plain-language explanation of what the test measures.

Keeps blood pressure and medicines alongside

Blood pressure from your visits, and from a Withings cuff if you connect one, sits next to your labs. The medicines your kidney doctors prescribe show up too, drawn from your records and from pharmacy fills when those are included.

Questions answered from your kidney history

Ask what has changed since you started a new medicine, or which results came from which practice. The chat answers from your records, and a second check compares each answer with the evidence before you rely on it.

What makes Basin different

A record that keeps itself current

A spreadsheet holds only the results you type into it. Basin builds your history from the records themselves, adds new ones as they arrive and points out what may be missing.

Two practices, one line

A patient portal such as MyChart lists the kidney labs from its own health system, under its own login. When your nephrologist and your primary care doctor work in different systems, Basin puts both sets of results on the same line.

Your assistant, reading your kidney history

Typed into ChatGPT, Claude or Grok without a connection, a kidney question gets answered only from the numbers you supply. Link that same assistant to Basin and, once you approve it, it can read your eGFR history, blood pressure readings and medicines for itself.

Monthly, and funded by members

Basin bills $9 a month, starting when a 7-day free trial (card required) runs out and ending whenever you cancel. Drug makers, labs and hospitals don't pay Triangle; members do.

Who uses Basin

The team behind Basin

Basin's kidney tracking comes from Triangle (Triangle Health, Inc.), a company based in Pasadena, California. Triangle traces back to 2023, when a brain tumor diagnosis left Arun Verma, now its CEO, piecing together his own records and research by hand; Jonathan Grubb and Justin Balthrop joined him as co-founders. Basin puts that same work within reach of anyone following their kidney numbers year after year.

About Triangle

How Basin works

  1. Open your Basin trial

Begin Basin with a 7-day free trial, telling it whose kidney numbers it will follow: your own, or a parent's, or another person's in your care.

  2. Identity, consent and an intake visit

Next comes an identity check, Triangle's consent paperwork and a booked intake appointment with a clinician, whose signature goes on the records request beside yours.

  3. Your kidney results flow in

Triangle requests your kidney labs over the national networks; results those networks can't reach are yours to upload. From there, read your health topics and medication list, ask how your eGFR has moved, and invite family in if that helps.

  4. Bring your own assistant, if you want

You can connect Claude, ChatGPT or Grok to your Basin profile at any point. Setup questions about Basin, from consent forms to connectors, go to Triangle at support@trianglehealth.com.

Frequently asked questions

Who runs Basin, and what happens to my kidney results there?

Basin gathers your kidney labs, blood pressure and medications into one history you can follow and ask about. Triangle is the company that makes Basin and keeps your account.

What will following my kidney numbers in Basin cost?

Kidney tracking in Basin is $9 a month, which begins when your 7-day free trial is over. The trial asks for a card up front, and cancellation is open to you whenever you choose.

Can Basin stage my kidney disease or act as my doctor?

No. Staging, diagnosing, treating and prescribing are all outside Basin, which Triangle built for research and educational support. Decisions about your kidneys stay with your nephrologist and the rest of your care team.

Can Claude, ChatGPT or Grok read my kidney history in Basin?

Yes, once you connect one. Point any of them at Triangle's MCP connector, https://app.trianglehealth.com/mcp, and approve exactly which parts of your kidney history it may read. Setup guides for each of them are collected at trianglehealth.com/agents.

How does Triangle protect my kidney records?

HIPAA compliance is the baseline at Triangle, and your kidney records are encrypted in transit and at rest. Basin data is never sold or handed over for advertising, and you pick who can open your profile.

Will my nephrologist's records come through?

Triangle asks for them through the national networks, but not every practice or lab can be reached that way. A missing creatinine result can be added as a PDF, a photo of the paper report, a disc or a fax, and Basin marks which kidney records still look absent.

Can I connect my blood pressure cuff?

Yes. Withings, Fitbit, Garmin, Oura and Samsung Health are among the devices you can connect, and their readings appear next to your records. Blood pressure taken at your appointments shows up whenever it is in your records.

Does Basin explain what eGFR and uACR mean?

Yes. Every result comes with a plain-language explanation; eGFR, for example, is an estimate of how well your kidneys filter, calculated from a blood test. What your own numbers mean for your care is a conversation for your nephrologist.
